will 95-01 manual tranny fit on VE motor??

just wondering what year manual trannies would bolt up to 91 maxima VE motor?

i think i remember my nissan mechanic friend say that nissan has used the manual tranny i pulled out of my 96 maxima for a long time???

i have a 2001 manual tranny in my 4th gen 96 max

a buddy of mine just had his tranny go out in his 91 maxima 5 speed
i am trying to locate a manual tranny for him on car-part.com

any help would be appreciated. thanks

Doesnt matter, the VE and VG's share the same bell housing bolt pattern.

The VE and VQ do NOT share the same bolt pattern. Sorry

So im not leaving the board or the maxima family plus it may take a year before i find the one i want.....until then ill keep moddin the VE.....

hey everyone likes what they like. I LOVE THE 3rd and 5.5 gens. So if its ok to have a 3rd gen why cant i have a 5.5 gen too ? besides the 3rd gen needs a repaint, new leather still need 2 more gauges for the gauge pod and im limited on aftermarket goodies. the 5.5 gen will have lower miles great interior, bigger motor, and more aftermarket following, plus i love the TE editions ever sice i got my VE i wanted a 5th gen but couldnt afford it.

5th gen has a beam, smaller interior, and wont handle aswell. However there are alot of really sweet little features you dont really notice at first.

I was just giving you crap anyway. I like the 5th gens (hence why I convinced my Dad to buy one a almost 2 years ago (7/31 ).

Although if I had the funds to buy one right now I wouldn't, I'd rather put the money towards buying a house. I've kinda learned that for the most part cars are just money pits that you wont get your money out of, so really my 3rd gen is staying with me for the long haul. (I'm starting to notice a trend here, first it was computers, now its cars lol).

anywho thats way OT and I appologize

I agree with shawn in part.

If you have a family I think it's important to have one new or nearly new vehicle that you think is safe and can get you around in the type of bad weather you may experience for where you live. (So if you live in Miami, you don't really need a 4wd, but if you live in Fairbanks, you shouldn't go buy a new Mustang as your family car, IMO).

However, for a second car, I have the 3rd gen. I could afford payments on a cheaper new car, but then I would have no money for mods. Every time I fix my car or put on some mods, I think about a car payment that I am not making. Besides my car is faster and more comfortable than a new Civic, Sentra, Focus or Neon (except the SRT-4) and I think my car is still pretty dependable.

Sorry, I guess I strayed OT, too, but I think in like the 4th post it was established that the tranny doesn't work...chris

you like cutting and welding?
that's what you'll have to do to get an IRS under there.

So are you saying that a VE tranny will mount to a VG motor?
