Those with Subs, where did you run the wire through the firewall to the amp?

On my first maxima I drilled a hole in the firewall to the left of the clutch pedal (thats looking from the interior)..that sucked. On my current maxima I took off the plastic splash gaurds on the drivers side and then put the wire through the grommet where the main wiring harness goes in... there is room on the side of the grommet to cut a slit for the wire to fit through nicely... This is easier with the wheel off

Use the rubber grommet/gasket...works great! i fit a 4 guage wire throught the grommet...just poke a hole in it.

No, just the plastic splash gaurds in the wheel well... kind of a pain to get off with the wheel on but it can be done... they come off with a couple of screws (and I think there might be 1 or 2 10mm bolts) and then you can see where all the wires go inside.. the grommet is big and has space on the sides to poke the hole(and wire) through... I had no problems putting a 4ga wire through... Ive never looked at the hood release grommet so I cant help you there.

i run a car audio store. have you ever seen a 0 ga wire get torn/ destroyed from being run under the car? not pretty. also it is not healthy for the cables to be exposed the way they are. granted i have twin 4 ga cables going to the rear, i still could have fit 2 zero's going thru the bulk head. hate to see ya have to buy a new 0 ga pwr cable errrrrr twin 0 ga pwr wires in the near future...... say a year or two. dont know how much you get it for but i sell it for 5 bucks a foot and 4 ga for 3 bucks a foot...... gets expensive after a while, but thats my .02
