Continued rough riding...
I've had my 91 maxima for 2 years now. first week, transmission failed. Replaced. Morons left it leaking, brought it back 2x, still leaking. Got 1 injector changed at auto shop, got the other 5 at Nissan. But since then, I had intermitten power loss. Every now and then, hardly any power and when giving gas, kinda just "guzzling", without really the RPM's raising. Now it's all the time, I never have much power, and the exhaust smells strong. But every now and then, once every 2 weeks at night or so, it'd run good again. This last week, it's changed to never. + It's actually running worse, I give it more gas, RPM's go up ever so slightly, and you hear alot of "guzzling".
Additionally, 2yrs ago the emissions were about 1/10th the limit in several categories. Now everything is about have the emissions. It's obviously not burning all the fuel...
Any clues? It just seems to keep getting worse the longer it leaves... I tried checking for vaccum leak with soapy water, saw no bubbles. Checked with carb cleaner, didn't make engine rev. Going to get compression checked, but I'm like 99% sure it's not that.
And now, the RPM's are alot higher at the lower speeds than before... before, 80-85 was at 2.5 thousand RPMS, now 70-75 is 2500, and 85 is at 3000 rpm... So it's having alot more trouble running at the same speeds as before..
Any ideas? Spark plugs, oxygen sensor, MAF sensor, vaccuum leak, catalytic convertor, compresion, not enough air, to much fuel, ect? Any way to narrow it down?

Well the last thing you listed, mine started doing at one time. I was so busy with work at the time, I actually let the Dealer do the work. Turned out that my Distubitor cap was bad, and 2 injectors were toast. And I noticed a power loss, but not as much as you did. Mine seemed like a 4 banger when I took it to Nissan. Hope that helps.
