Removing passenger axle...92 5spd

Okay so I removed the driver's side axle and tranny today, but I couldn't reach one of the three bolts on the passenger axle since the exhaust manifold and engine crossmember were in the way.

How did you all remove it without removing the crossmember and y-pipe?

Thanks!

The tranny wasn't that bad to take out btw.

lots of extensions and universal joint (swivel)

still might need to remove the Y pipe or at least the front part of it so you can lower it somewhat
you shouldn't have to remove the crossmember though

Small 10mm box/open end and some imagination. Or a offset long reach 10mm box end. You can get it. But it's not always clear on how to get to it. Just have to sit there and try the tools you have. It's probably the top one.

Well my friend and I finally got that last bolt and the axle out. We ended up using a 3/8" drive with 12mm socket. I held the socket on so it wouldn't slip off since the bolt was rounding off while he broke it loose.

I can't wait to put in the tranny I bought and see if it works without making any noise like my other one. I might try to rebuild my other tranny and keep/sell it. I'll post when it's all done and let y'all know how it goes.
