Cracked rear exhaust manifold-repairs over $1000
last week-master cylinder $350
man my dad isn't too happy, and I have to pay all this crap off! I have a bad feeling that my transmission is going soon also, it shifts pretty bad.
my brakes al;so squeal softly when driving and not touching break (squeak, pause, squeak, pause, squeak..) the mechanic said the brakes are fine and that the pads are always touching the rotors which can cause this noise. Iss this true?

BRAKE SQUEAL
HEY GUY THAT IS TRUE SOMETIMES BUT IN MY 12 YEARS OF OWNING MY CAR, I HAVE USED JUST ABOUT EVERY TYPE OF PAD THEIR IS I JUST RECENTLY REPLACE MY PADS AND HAD SOME SQUEAL, BUT IT WAS DUE MY ROTORS SLIGHTLY RUBBING AGAINST THE BRAKE ROTOR SHIELD. IT HELPS PROTECT THE ROTORS FROM ROCKS AND ALSO HELPS COOL THE BRAKES BY PULLING AIR ALL AROUND YOUR ROTORS IT DOESNT TAKE MUCH TO SLIGHTLY BEND THIS SHIELD JUST PULLYOUR WHEEEL OFF WHERE IT IS SQUEALING AND CHECK AND MAKE SURE NOTHING IS TOUCHING THE BACK SIDE OF YOUR ROTOR!

Re: BRAKE SQUEAL
ALSO!!!!!! do NOT use organic pads on the rear. mine did the same thing. it was JUST loud enough to get annoying. i switched over to a carbon metallic on the rears and it totally went away! supposedly it calls for organic on the rear. i dunno, who cares! i couldn't take the squeel! oh, also, another option to try is ceramic brake pads. they'll run ya a little bit more, but they won't dust and make your wheels all dirty, they won't squeek, and like all quality pads, have a lifetime warranty. just a lil FYI!
