New E36 headlights...Whatcha think?

Should they stay and I paint the car black or go back to the old style?

definitely something different

not sure if I like it or not, it'd be better if the shape was closer to the maxima's front end
maybe you could fill in a little bit and make it flush with some bondo on the plastic and then paint it black

also, you should do something with those corners - they look out of place with those lights. awsm66 will tint them for you with professional quality paint (not standard spray can tint stuff).

Never saw those put on a bimmer. The corners need to be tinted. The gap also needs to be filled like Craig said.

on behalf of most of us at the org, THANK YOU! even though most will debate and pick at the idea, its good to see someone actually did it and then asked. i think if the whole car was white those lights would look dope!

Why dont you do some plastic work to make them fit the car perfectly THEN paint them the color of the car (instead of painting the car to match them). I really think they will look pretty good then. Kinda like the front of an older integra or something.

Good job on trying something new...when I saw those a while back on ebay I wasnt sure how they would look on a 3rd gen.

A co-worker put something like that on his Corolla. And it looks ok on a black car. Maybe you should get it painted to match the car. Instead of painting the car to match it.

I'd keep em.
-You may wanna tint the coners and directionals.
-Chop the sides of the grill and cover it with mesh, the lights will sit better and won't push out the corners.

Do those have halo's?

Well, Ive re-aligned the lights and they look a lot better. These were just test fit pics. I will get them or the car painted though. Yes, they have halo's and they use h1 bulbs. they have another version on Ebay which I thought I was buying, with projectors. But man they will set the car off when Im done!

I was just looking at these too on eBay before I read your post, but I was thinking it might look odd without the lens cover. Seeing it in your pic now, I think I'd still want a lens cover, if for no other reason than to give a more flush appearance with the corners/hood.

without the lense cover it reminds me of the acura integra head lights....but they obviously aren't built into the body

hmmm I bet they would look good with the covers. Most new headlights on cars are like that where the black plastic goes up to the lens. It would be a lot easier to seal them with that type of headlight too.

Looks way better from this angle for sure. I still think I might like to see it with covers. Good work tho!

Hey awsm66: (sorry, I know I'm harassing you all over the boards), but didn't you mention you bought clear 3rd gen covers? I had tried a search for them, but was coming up empty. Suggestions where to look?

The beam pattern is soooo easy to adjust on these because on the back of the lights there are 3 adjusting screws that move the light where you want it. Ive got H1 xenons in there and its lovely! The bulbs do steam up whenever I go to the automatic car wash though, but I usually wash it by hand.

hmmm...personally I would really just like to pay someone to do it for me, I know it's not always that easy, but I don't want to f*ck something up that I've never done before and have wasted money on the projectors. I would definately trust someone who's done it before way over myself. PLEASE! SOMEONE HELP!

Brad92SE has been good with helping me start to install mine, he's drawn a couple pictures of where to cut and wiring and other things like that...when I get done I plan to make a write-up for the projectors.
