Digital gas gauge problem

I just noticed something today... I put $15 in gas yesterday and ended up with 4 bars... Today when I got in the car it registered NO bars... When I drove for about 15mins all of a sudden I had 1 bar, then a few more minutes, 2 bars, then all the way up to 4 bars... Is it my gauge or is it my fuel level sensor? If it is... its not in the tank is it?

The float and sensor in the tank are probably acting up, you should be able to have it tested, or there's most likely a procedure for testing it, check the FAQs or a service manual. The float is in the tank.

See if it keeps happening.

Nothing in the FAQs about testing it but my service manual is on the way so hopefully that sheds some light into things....

Richmond BC!!! I used to hang out there all the time!
