Not sure if that's the one or not, but you definitely need to find the LOW pressure side. Typically it's closer to the firewall than the radiator, but I haven't done AC work on my Max, so I'm not sure.

Don't forget that if you have a 92 or earlier you have R12 refridgerant.

make sure you charge to the Low pressure side where it marked 'L'. try getting a gauge if you can so you don't mess up. too much charges could cause an explosion.

anyone know much about ac systems?....I had a new dryer put in, system flushed and vacuum tested and everything...refilled with oil and freon....and when I use it, its not as cold as it should be...you know the new car ice cold a/c.....thats what I want.....my a/c blows a mild cold air...it could easily be 10degrees cooler and still not be as good as a new car....any ideas on what I may need to replace....I have no leaks, I was thinking maybe my condenser isn't working as well..

get a gauge and find out. you should be getting around 30-45PSI for ambient temperature of around 80+-10F. make sure the ac compressor clutch is enraged. if it's off, then you'll get around 55PSI which is quite difficult to tell. the only way to tell if your compressor is enraged beside the listenning method is to check your radiator fan. if you turned on your ac and the compressor clutch enraged, then your radiator fan should turns out as well.

my radiator fans come on when I turn my a/c on.....could it be because my condenser isn't working as good as it should and the fans don't cool it off as much as it should?

On my 94 GXE with the VG engine, the low pressure connector is over the ac compressor. The high pressure connector is next to the radiator on the passenger side. The low pressure line is the bigger one - the high pressure one is the thinner one.
