ebay fstb

i am planning on getting a fstb off ebay but i wanan get some feedback on how the vg fstbs work. also, i was wondering if the 5th gen fstbs work. if youve had good experience with a ebay fstb from a particular person, please leave me the ebay vendor name so i can look at his stuff. thx

also where can i buy the 5th gen muffler? ive been looking around but cant find it. how do the cheap ebay mufflers sound?

i dont plan on using too mcuh on the muffler and fstb becuase im getting the ws y-pipe. figured put in small bucks for minor perfomance mods.

They sound freaking cheap! Throughly degrades the sound of the engine, makes a nice mean sounding V6 sound like a puny 4 banger and it has a high pitch noise, you can easily tell the difference between the good and bad mufflers going down the road. I personally have an 3A racing Dual Dtm Muffler, and Imo it sounds fantastic, just ask Tim he has heard it

I bought my FSTB from this seller:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33591

His/her ebay ID is "Drivingear". Good price, fast shipment. Recommended.
It seems to work fine for me, although I've never had an expensive one to compare it to. Made a positive difference in body roll in cornering.

I bought from ebstore.
my only complaint is that I had to remove one of the jam nuts to make it fit.

whats a jam nut? pic?

I decided to pay extra and get the Otto because of a few reasons, 1. it looks a billion times better IMHO. No rubbing, only have to take 6 bolts off to install it and thats it, no messing with the AC line, no worrying about it rubbing on the intake manifold, no BS. lastly I want to be like Michael when I grow up (btw Michael, I got your message, I was at work )

Muffler, go 5th gen. The only reason I didn't was because I got a good deal on the Greddy.

Yeah, what is that jam nut you're talking about? Is that something that has to come off to clear the AC line?

Not sure, the guy that sold it said it was an otto bar that he took off of his 3rd gen. the box he shipped in also had otto racing all over it

is your's 3rd gen specific?

nope mine is a 5th gen otto bar and that is why I was asking...figured that may explain the difference in the looks.

I dont see a listing on procarparts for a 3rd gen OTTO bar. That doesnt mean it doesnt exist but that they dont list it for the 3rd gen.

Here is a link to the 5th gen Otto bar on procarparts.

It really doesnt matter as long as it fits your engine bay without moving anything...it just seems strange that if it is an otto bar then it is a totally different style I have seen from them.

Oh and the pre 92 maximas (gxe and SE) didnt have problems with fitment of even a regular old 3rd gen bar. In 92 the ac line was moved or something to cause fitment problems.

come to think of it, there's no markings on my bar that says otto. oh well, it still does its job nicely of tightening up the front end
