It will not fit, you can try to get a 5th generation one I believe, maybe 2000? I'm not positive but I have been told that you can get it at courtesy and it will fit with minimal rubbing. My poor maxima is going downhill and I can't afford fun things like handling until it stops misfiring.

Yep, 2000-2003 strut bar will work. I got mine off Ebay for cheap, works great.

I have an OTTO strut bar originaly made for the 2000 maxima.

I have absoltely no experience with any other strut bar made for the 2000+ maxima fitting the VE30DE.

I used to have a Courtesy FSTB that was made for the VE30De.

You'd have to post a link or pic.

I'd just go for Jeff's, win win for everyone.

Besides the bar might only be the 7.95 or so but the shipping will normally be $18 or 23. I bought one on ebay for $25 but waited 2-3 months and it didnt arrive. The guy finally gave me a refund. From my experience its not even worth the time to buy the cheapys off ebay.

Here is mine with the 2000-2003 FSTB from ebay (the one that's like $8+$18 for shipping). I have had it for over a year with no problems.

On the passenger side, the FSTB pushes down on the AC line (I unbolted the bracket so I could push it down), but the line is insulated with thick foam and I have had no issues with it rubbing through. From what I understand, the OTTO bar does not touch the AC line.

Hey, Smokey, where did you get the JDM Swap done? Or did you do it yourself?

I need some info on this. If you get a chance, shoot me a PM.

thanks,

chris

I got an el cheapo ebay one, but I have the straight rather than curved brackets, so no A/C line interference.
Cost me $25 shipped and I got it in 2-3 weeks

Looks like ebay has a couple cheap ones that should work on the SE. These don't have the curved bracket part so should work. But the Otto one is a sure thing, just it costs about $50.

I got their e-mail back...they told me they shipped it to the right address and everything....but Fedex put it on the wrong truck....WHOOPS! The funny thing is when I was waiting for my catback a month ago they did something stupid like that....I got 2 boxes that weren't even close to my address....and someone else got my catback....luckily they cleared it up the next day......but I still can't believe they ****ed up and put it on a truck to ohio....oh well...should come in this Tuesday....I'll let you guys know how it works out

Got my strut bar on the other day and since it hasn't been raining as much lately... I have been able to give it a thorough test...considering Im still riding on 12 year old struts, the cheap ebay bar for the 00-03 maxima I got improves the front end handling greatly. Although I come to find I think my tires need a front end alignment....my wheels squeel horribly when I turn real sharp, but it sounds awesome. Also it fit perfect, barely interfering with the AC line.
