My Max is a Dog!

Hey Guy's. I know I haven't been around in a while, but they got on our cases at work about internet use.

Anyway's, I've really been noticing lately that my Max seem's like it has no low end. Once she's moving, she fly's, but from a stop, no tire squealage, and the acceleration seems a little sluggish. My knock sensor is fine, so are my coils. She has a new fuel pump, copper plugs, CAI, Warpspeed Y, and a new 02. It's not throwing any codes, but every once in a blue moon it'll do that bucking routine like the MAF's freaking out or something. Short of the MAF being screwed, anyone have any idea's?

I just cleaned all of the grounds, plus installed a ground wire kit and new battery cables. I guess I'll have to try the rest. Thanks.

A little rough, but not too bad. It idles around 600-700 RPM.

Did you just say you put brand new COPPER PLUGS in? If you car is a SE with DOHC you NEED and I mean MUST have PLATINUM plugs....this maybe could be your problem, but Im a dumbass so we'll see what other people say about it

did this problem start when you did the tune up and put new plugs in and other stuff? Also make sure you use NGK plat plugs if you can...NGK as suppose to be the best for our maxima;s I think.

You are a dumbarse FSM requires plat ngk plugs. But only so you don't have to change them for 60k. You can use coppers. The only downside is how long the plugs last.

there are other reasons for the laser plats as well. one of them being that platinum plugs burn hotter and give better overall combustion on a NATURALLY ASPIRATED motor. they also help emissions.
I have seen cars fail the emission test because people put in coppers instead of the correct plugs.
on cars with laser platinums the problem seems to be most prevelant.

You do know copper is a better conductor of heat than Platinum right?
I used to advocate Plats only but it seems people have good luck with coppers as well.

i run one step colder NGK coopers and my VE runs like a bat outa hell so that is proboly not your problem

did you just replace the KN and if so did you replace the subharness

if you didnt do both those things then try bybassing the KN and see if it clears up

also check the coolent temp sensor like already sugested

Yeah, I have an autotragic. Haven't bothered checking the KS or the CTS, but even though it doesn't throw any codes, it's prolly worth it. I bypassed the ks on my mom's '96, and it runs like a raped ape. VTC's are fine, surprisingly, and it does have high mileage. She ran way better after putting the NGK coppers in, so I don't think that's the problem.
