Door Locks

Got A quick question about the door locks. I believe there was a different thread on this but I can't seem to find it. Well, my door locks just don't work. Anyone have any suggestions on what to check? Is there something that commonly goes bad in the system for the switch to fail?

Im not really sure either. My locks are fine from the inside, you can lock and unlock them with ease. But, on the outside. Unlocking them is an event. Sometimes i have to unlock them 20times before it actualy clicks and teh will work. But hopefully, im gonna get the keyless entry(gonna shave my handles) or if not that just a new car alarm.

I have a problem with mine as well. I cant seem to lock the door or open it from passenger side and the doors will unlock if i close and lock my door before the other doors are locked. Does this have something to do with the disabling and removing the
anti theft and alarm system that the previous owner did? Please help.

It could also be that it will try to prevent you from locking your keys in the car by automatically unlocking it while the keys are in the ignition.

lol, you're close kyle. Nissan's around the 90's had a feature built into them. When closing your door and you had already locked them, lift up on the handle while you do it. This keeps the doors from unlocking. You only need to do this on the front doors. Closing the rear doors with the lock on, will not cause it to unlock.

Now as for Maxima here's the basis of it.

1. You can lock and unlock all the doors from the driver's in 3 diff spots. the button, the lock itself, and the key lock on the outside. These spots do all 4 doors at once.

2. the passenger side unlocks all doors from the lock and the key lock outside. It doesn't lock all the doors.

3. the rear door locks, only work for that door.

USAF Hydro's problem is the timer. None of the locks work how they're supposed to on his car.
