why dont wheels fit?

i just recently bought wheels that are 18 x 8, 35mm offset, and 225 40 18 tires. I have heard several times that that size would fit, but for some reason the front wheels make a horrible noisy, i dont know what to do, please help!! I have felt around the wheels and i cant feel anything that touches. Also, the noise isn't there when i accelerate, no matter how light i accelerate.

Hub bore is off and you didn't install hubcentric rings?

maybe when someone was installing them they bent the backing plate shield (or whatever that thing is called). I have seen that happen and it makes a scraping and squealing sound.

explain in better detail what the noise sounds like.

can't tell you much at all until you tell us more about the noise. when does it happen?
do the wheels spin freely with the car jacked up?

This happened to me after i installed my sprint springs and st struts. Just take your wheel off and look at the backing plate it is prolly rubbing against the rotor. I recall when it happened to me it made this terrible noise it still drove fine but made a loud noise. As for your rims you should have no problem i have that same setup. I have 18" vault wheels with 225/40/18's and i don't rub at all. Except when i have like three people in the back then my car is so slammed it rubs a little then, but besides that i have no problem at all.

More info would help, like what it sounds like, when you get it, and clear up your last sentence a bit....

Visually check the tire all around including the back for signs of rubbing.

Its either your brakes dragging or the backplate like I mentioned. Take the front wheels off and look around the rotor and see what you find.
