1994 Maxima SE: I have a Bose FM/AM cass radio that came with the car when I bought it. Lately, I've been getting interference whenever I'm listening to FM stations. I don't get interference on AM stations. The interference comes and goes at random. The interference started suddenly about a month ago. I can still hear the music in the background whenever the interference comes in. In other words, the music doesn’t distort; I hear the interference “over” the music. Doesn’t anyone know what is causing the interference and what I can to fix the radio?

 

I can 't tell you why you are having the problem that you are having, but what I can tell you is that you going to end up replacing your head unit soon. My max is a 94 also and the head unit died on me the day after I bought my car. I tried to get it fixed, only to find out it would have been cheaper to just replace it.
