No high beam lights

My 89 SE has no high beam headlights. It has been like that for quite some time. I replaced both lights and checked the fuses. I'm guessing the light switch may be bad. Any help ? What does the switch cost?

Are you getting power to the high beam wire (before the harness)? If so then I would say switch. I'm not sure how much they cost though.

Had the same problem with my '94. Low beams worked fine, even one high beam worked fine, at least most of the time... Turned out to be the switch, but also had blown a relay. On the '94 there are separate relays for each side. I assume that would be the same for the '89.

I'm not at the car right now, but the relay box is on the driver's side, near the battery. The top of this box is labeled. I'm assuming you can swap the two headlamp relays to see if your problem moves from one headlight to the other.

Like I said, my problem was a bad switch which apparently caused the relay to burn out. Doesn't hurt to start with the relay, but my guess is going to be the switch itself.
