My Fuel Injectors Suck!

Hi Brothers!

My grandmother has Nissan Maxima 1990 SE and couple of days ago my mechanic has changed 2 fuel injectors. However, today 2 more has gone bad.

Well, I'm trying to see if this problem is common among Maximas, especially 1990 year.

Please share your experience.

Michael

I would suggest replacing all 6 injectors. I did this about 2 years ago. Also, the harnesses to the injectors have a reputation for going bad. You might want to check them as well.

just don't get Reman / rebuilt injectors. there is / was a major design flaw in the 89-91 VG injectors, and people are still paying for it.
But eventually they all die, so get em all done at once and save the labor (assuming you're paying someone else to do it)

It felt like the car had some vibrating, and it didn't feel like it was running as smooth as it should, wasn't running to its full potential!! My dad does all my work, so he confirmed it for sure, he also recommened replacing all of them at once!

3 of my injectors went out about 4 years ago. We got all 6 replaced with Nissan Parts. the car use to shake upon start up like crazy. Also the check engine light came on. Parts + Labor came out to more than $1k

I just sell whatever is in stock, because one of them was discontinued in favor of the other

When i changled allllllllll 6 of my injectors, I asked the same question to my mechanic.

He, and some of the people on this forum, will concur that it doesn't really matter which you get, as long as ALL 6 have the same color.

I once heard that one of them injects more gas, but I don't think there's really a big performance difference.

Thanks for all the answers on the color.

I just found out that you should also change the harness (connection to the injector) because that goes bad to. Is this correct?
