Tube underneath EGR? help identify

Removed and cleaned the EGR on my 92SE yesterday. But after removing it, I noticed an L shaped metal tube beneath where it was mounted that has a rubber hose connected to it. The rubber hose was kind of torn up on the end, so I had to cut it down and reattach it. However the diameter of the rubber tube is so small you can barely get it back on before the metal tube starts to bend. I'm pretty sure this is part of the emissions system. Anyone know what I.D. rubber hose fits on there?

Yep, it's an auto unfortunately. There's a good pic of the tube I'm talking about on Craig Brace's site on the EGR cleaning section, 3rd pic down.

The big metal tube is a breather hose I believe, and the small one is a vacuum source for either the EGR valve solenoid or something else.
