come on guys i need opinions....As most of you know my leather is disgraceful and beyond recognition. However i cant afford new 800 leather from leatherseats.com. Im looking for used maxima leather in great condition....but im pondering the use of black leather vs the stock tan...

 

Black is nice with black car...Though maybe not if your a black male?

 

italian and irish, LOL...car has TAN stock leather interior but since i figured the a pillars are black, shifter, radio trim, gauge trim, steering wheel, window switch trim, ect....is all black...black leather might not look so bad but im askin for opinions on that....

 

i think that having your seats be of different colors than your car makes for the best appearance. So, if you're car's black, get tan leather sets. If you're is tan like mine, get black leather seats.

 

Go with the black. Mine is tan and it shows dirt really bad

 

if you go with black then change the carpet. IMO it will look funny for the carpet to be the only tan thing left in the car.

I like the look of black and tan like it is. I dont however like the brown dash and door panels in some maximas (I had to get rid of it out of my 92).

 

Tan. Just keep it clean.

I HAVE black and wish it were tan because black stuff shows dust and all the white specks (so you can't win dirt-wise anyway), and in the summer it gets HOT which is my main compliant.

 

I'm afraid you won't have much choice. It's extremely difficult to come across electric leather seats in good shape in whichever color. If you do have a choice, it's a matter of taste.

 

isnt your dash still tan??? i think black leather seats will look weird if your dash is tan.

 

Klown sent me some pics of a maxima once before, i think it has black leather (or maybe cloth? I dont remember) but the tan carpet, actually looks pretty cool. Plus my friend took my black leather out of my old 93 and put it into a Jeffy color 92 with a stock tan factory leather interior and it was pretty good looking too, then again, I think he actually swapped the entire interior sooooo nevermind

My first Max (gold) had black leather in it. Exactly the same interior as my current car.

I agree with anaximander. You don't often see junkyard cars or parts cars with good leather. I would take whatever you can find and then convert the interior from there, if possible.

 

If you want to get black, make sure you get your door inserts black also. I think that would look awesome.

 

love the input, and yes the interior is TAN. but im daring to be different. i thought the door inserts were gray ? they come in black ? humm....dunno but ill tell you what i could slowly convert the interior over to black. I just really need new seats......shawn you have PM....

 

i voted black. being that the interior is tan, black seats will look kinda cool in there.
if you hate them, then you can always sell them and hunt for tan in the mean-time. i would assume that black leather is the more common option for leather. i didn't even know that tan leather was ever available. i learn something new every day.

 

yup i have factory tan leather, but your right i can resel if i really dont like it.....so anyone have black leather in good condition...?
