Wet Seat

I have an 89 max. The rear seat behind the driver gets wet periodically. I have no idea from what. I think from rain but its not soaking wet and i dont see a water trail anywhere from the roof. I have a feeling its from the trunk somewhere but cant find out how there is water in the back but how it travels to the front i dont know? Has anyone else had this problem if so how did they fix it? Please

pull the seat out and have a look see. get a friend to hose the car down while you check inside.

Use a dollar bill and check to see if there are any broken seals in the doors.

it could also be a sign of rust which is allowing water to come up and soak the seat?

check your moonroof. There are drains inside that can get clogged and the water will drip inside, instead of draining through the hoses. I think Antonthegrey had this problem a little while back.

where on the seat is the water, exactly? that's a pretty vague statement.

living up north, you're also prone to rust.. is it near the door where the seatbelts bolt into place? often that area rusts out.

Thats exactly where it is. Ive taken the seat out plenty of times and have taken a look. But it doesnt explain how the water is getting there...There is no holes or anything but the whole thing under the seat looks rusted kinda..its a dark orange.

Mine leaked in the trunk from the top of the driver side tail light. Water would slowly, slowly accumulate in the spare tire well. Then when the car was parked with the Nose down, water would spill up out of the well, and travel between the gap of the rear seat backrest and "bottomrest". So, the top of the seat got soaked. I'd recommend checking the wheel well, spraying water on the trunk, etc...

I found the problem for the wet seat. The red maxima part of the trunk it has quite a big crack in it. I was wondering if anyone has one for sale. Or know where i can get it from. If not i might just get it shaved....
