Sudden hesitation problem

I was driving to pick up my girlfriend from home last night and if you live in the NE or in NY then you definitely gotcaught in the downpour from Hurrican Jeanne last night. Anyway, I'm riding to her house and I swerve to avoid this huge puddle but unfortunately NY Police car next to me wouldn't let me over and I ran through it . I pulled to the side of the road to check my car. Everything was fine, so I thought, and I didn't hear any noise so I assumed everything was okay and proceeded on. About 5 minutes later my car starts hesistating like the o2 sensor was on it's way out or bad but I just changed it in March of ths year. Could it be possible that I got water inside the engine from the intake and now it's affecting the engine, my o2 sensor could possibly have just went bad just because, or in some way the o2 connection got wet and maybe burned out the sensor? I do have a 2.5" inch exhaust from the y-pipe back to the muffler so I was thinking maybe the extra heat being put out might have burned it out sooner than it's normal expectancy? Any help would be greatly appreciated

You might want to give it some time to dry out. When I washed the engine off on my old supra it would run rough for a while.
