smoking- don't know why.

OK, this is a continuation of another post i made a week or so ago. Recap: Changed out my injectors, and now the car smokes like crazy. Whitish smoke, but could possibly be a little bluish. Lots of it.

I know that white smoke means burning antifreeze and blue smoke means burning oil. My point is that I didn't do anything to cause either of those things to happen.

The only thing I can think of is possibly a gasket problem in the intake area that is letting coolant in.

Lastly, the car seems to be running fine on all cylinders- no missing or skipping. Checked the compression for the hell of it, and it ranges from 180 to 200 on all cylinders. Nothing way low or way high, so I don't think there's any head gasket problem (besides, it didn't smoke before the injector change)

Can I temporarily plug the coolant lines to the intake and see if that stops the smoking? Any thoughts?

No, it's not odorless...can't really describe the smell, though. Strong, for sure. Kinda like gas, maybe. But my engine runs fine, and I used all new o-rings. If it is leaking past the o-ring, how do you tell which one or ones are leaking?

well first of all I hate o rings cuz if not lubed enough its just asking for trouble. but a way to see if ur leaking is hook up a fuel pressure guage to ur fuel line and just turn on the car but not start so the fuel pump pressurises the line and see if the pressure holds or drops. and to find which injector is leaking and engine idles fine I was thinking unplug all injector harnesses and crank engine to see if any one of the cylinder would fire or just take out all spark plugs and look for a mist of fuel and odor. hope this helps. how long has it been smoking?

Only been smoking since I changed the injectors, but I haven't driven the car but maybe a mile up the road since. It smokes too much. Also, the injectors that are in there now are the ones I started with, and they weren't leaking before. I suppose it's possible to cause them to start leaking from taking them in and out of the rail- since that's such a biatch to do.

In all, I've changed injectors 3 times in the past week. Took the originals out, put the used set in ( that's when the smoke first started). Took that set out, and put the originals back in. Each time, I used the new seals and lubed them pretty good with oil before installing them.

if you lubed them all with oil...then you prolly just bruning off a lil xtra fuel and all that oil...if you only drove it 1 mile, it gonna take longer than that to burn it off

Well, mine seems to have corrected itself. I ran it around tonight for quite a while, and not a bit of smoke. So, I guess everbody who said it was just burning off stuff was right...
