Bad Day (kind of long)

How bad can my day go? Here's the story I am driving then all I hear is BOOM!! Guess what window regulator broke. Now I have to buy a new regulator no biggie. I continue my drive then I hear another boom and the car seemed to jump a little. I first checked all of my windows, then tires. Nothing abnormal is found.

When I get home I play a lil bit of Unreal Tournament online and my father sneeks out and takes my car for 15 minutes. Longest 15 of my life. I can't argue though because he's paying my insurance. He comes back and tells me that I have a busted front engine mount. I later have him inspect the bottom of the engine and he's like add the other two mounts on your I Really Need List. Soo I call Advanced Auto Parts and they're like $230. I know internetautomar has better prices so I'm going with him.

To make things even worst My brake light came on today and I replaced my pads under 30 days ago so I believe that it's my brake drums calling the signal. Plus my passenger rear drum clicks when I press the braks to slow down or when I pull my e-brake. I believe that it's time for a rear disk swap. Any suggestions on prices in which finding the parts to do the swap may cost?

Look for someone parting out their 3-gen VE for the rear discs and e-brake cables.

At least your engine didn't go *BOOM* like mine did TWICE. Your day is a ride in the park so don't complain.

why don't you make up some poly-urethane mounts?
i guarantee they'll be stronger than the rubber stock type. plus it'll likely only cost you $30 in materials.
that's one of my projects this month.

If anyone feels like doing a few of motor mounts for the VG then I'll be willing to pay whatever reasonable fee. That'll beat the OEM costs. Post here or pm me.

yea its not that bad mine went BOOM also when i turned the key, bent the valves, cracked the rocker arms, sent metal shavings thru the motor, broke a chain tensioner, and stretched the chain cause it jumped about 10 teeth..... i say if your gonna break it go BIG or go HOME..... just kidding it cost me 2400 bucks to fix it, port it polish it, hone it, blow it, smoke it shift it, ect.. and it still has valve lash problems it stil gets a slight tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick......... all well life goes on but be happy you just have to replace motor mounts thats an easy job, also the window regulator is a piece of cake....

Having a bad day is going to leave your girlfriends college at lik 230 in the Am, goin to drive out the front gate of the college and hearin a BOOM that makes you want to **** your pants. This would be from your rod slamming thru your cars oil pan and it coming to a complete halt mid-shift....Then b\c your car is too low needing a flatbead to drive it back to a shop for $3oo after having to see a uneducated dumbass lifting the car up w\o the woodblocks you told him he would need so the Greddy exhaust system would not get scractched to hell and back ... Then havin to drive a 86 Monte Carlo which cannot do over 65 b\c u are scared for your life, while you fix you car! %Even though while rippiing out an engine having a RWD whoopdie to do bleach burnouts and figure 8's is always funn!!!% Now that is a bad day...

Nah it wasn't 2 bad everyone that was outside the bar rite across the street helped me push ma car back inside the college and back behind the securtiy gates so that stuff would not get magically disapear...Then in the morning i called a tow company. AAA would not do **** b\c they would only flatbed me to a shop within 2 miles, meanwhile I am a county over in Nassua when i gotta get back to Suffolk it was not good for business, and surely more than 2 miles! And yes the Monte does have pontential that will not be unleashed b\c all ma money is in ma Maxima not my 200 American POS. After a tuneup the car runs like a champ, though i cannot get down the Non-Fuel Injected Thing for the life of me...But once's it goin it books... engine swap is in progress i will have pics up soon!
