ok I have an 89 GXE and the only thing close to a cup holder is in the glove box!? Im not going to look like my grandfather and put one of thoes cup holders in my car that go on the window lol.

has anyone made custom cup holders? is there anything else to do to get cup holders?

 

you can get a coin holder/cup holder out of a taurus from the early to mid 90's. it will fit just below the stereo where you currently have a storage compartment and it fits large drinks. or you can get the storage compartment/drink holder from the 92-94 maximas, unfortunately it will only hold a can though.
the compartment from the maxima looks nicer but the taurus one serves it purpose much better.

 

they dont even fit standard cans from a 92-94... they suck too. i have only found one kind of cup that fit and it was a cup from the casino. theres one that is small enough for somehting like a red bull and one too big for a can but too small for the standard 20oz drink from wendys or what not

all in all they suck

Have to agree with this guy. The 'drawer' type cup holder that came on my '92 GXE was all but useless, unless you were parked. Anything bigger than a shot glass would tip over and spill everywhere (I know this from experience), and drinking coffee from a shot glass is guaranteed to get you pulled over. I replaced it with the the cupholder from an early 90's Taurus, and it works great.
