I have a 91 Broughm, some of my lights for the buttons are brunt out. Heres the list- Hazard lights button, fog lights button, A/T button, and the amber light that turns on when you turn on the heated mirrors on. I took the buttons out and opened them up and took out the bulbs. Two of the bulbs are circular shape and twist in (looks like bulbs from Honda dash lights) and three of the bulbs look like they are "T" shaped with rubber bottoms. I took the bulbs to the dealer and they said that I would have to buy the whole switch!! The total bill being $160.00 (approx, $120 for those who are American)But the buttons still work and I don't want to have to replace perfectly good buttons just for the bulbs. Does anyone have any suggestions! Thanks.

This seems to be a common problem on Maximas. On my '92 GXE, the vent selector lever symbol on the bottom side is no longer lit, rear defroster switch light is burned out, hazard is burned out and also the A/T selector switch is burned out. Oh yeah, one of the bulbs in the stock radio burned out.

Couple of things I thought of.

1) Get 8 AA batteries and wire them up in series, tape them together to make a testor. Then go to the local salvage yard, pluck the switches you need, and test them to see if the lights still work and if they do buy them.

2) Somehow take out the bulbs and hope radio shack has them.
