Will "Infiniti M30 Oil Filter" fit in Max?
Here is the specs of the filter.
Brand: Nippon
Year Range: 1990-1992
Fits: 08/1989 and up
Category: Infiniti Engine Parts
Model Engine: VG30E
Make: Infiniti
Model: M30 3.0
Will it fit in Max and how'bout the nippon brand? Are they as good as OEM ones or not? If you have any experience, I'd appreciate your opinion.
Thank you guys!

I'm using a Maxima filter on a 300ZX engine so I'd say that it would work... but it should be just as easy to get one of those for a Maxima specific VG.
If not, you can grab that filter and grab a filter that's listed for the Maxima and compare them. I think it should work but do that to be absolutely sure.

You could probably cross reference them on some site that has oil filters or in one of those books at the auto parts store. Most of those filter companies like Fram or whatever use the same filter for as many applications as possible.

should fit, might want to find out where it is mounted, to see if it is the same, the burst pressure of different model filters vary dependent on the location...
I am testing out a PH3600 FRAM long filter on my VE, but obviously it lowers my oil pressure just a tad, so i dont need to worry too much about the burst pressure.

I used a Nippon Filter for one of my oil changes. It looks EXACTLY the same as the genuine nissan one (light blue one), size, weight, inside & out. I am still saving it for some day that I might cut it in half and comapre the two. If anyone wants to do that, I'll send them both of them...

The part number on the filter is 15208-55Y00. It's blueish color, darker than OEM Nissan filter's light blue color. Made by Nippon. It feels, looks almost same as OEM one. I got those off of eBay and will try to change this weekend. A new post will follow afterwards.

That IS the OEM filter for the VG. Nippon is the company that makes them.
read through the fluids and lubricants forum for more info on it. I found it in about 30 seconds. (namely, look in the sticky about the 60U00 filter being discontinuted)

Thanks, I guess I'll just buy the Nippons one since there the same, and I can get them for less than the Nissan Dealer ones. I read through that 3 page thread, but didnt find anything about the VG filters being made by Nippon....What company makes the VE (gray discontinued) filters???

it doesn't matter who makes them, but if they have a part number on them, that equates to nissan's VG oil filter part number, you can be rest assured they're an OEM Nissan part... Just too coincidental to make 10 digits match up in such a strange combination if they weren't the same thing... Nippon makes a LOT of the parts that go in Nissans, so it doesn't surprise me to see it stamped on their oil filters.
