Good news/Bad news

Changed my spark plugs, cleaned entire engine bay and flushed cooling system yesterday . Came to find out the previous mechanic had put in regular ngk plugs instead of platinum. So all this time I was using the $2 plug instead of $27 plug . Anyway I changed to laser platinum. One of the plugs had oil on it so that might mean valve cover gasket . Just remember to check the parts that get put in your car. I finally heard the Greddy on a third gen with no mods also . I almost copped that joint but someone beat me to it.HA!
Anyway I still want a starter even though mine cranked right up this morning.
I still need these so if you have them please reply:
Oil dipstick
starter
some good 6x9's
c-ya

I'm putting copper plugs in my VE......the only thing plats give you is a longer life. I can handle changing them twice as much if it means paying $2 per plug versus $8.

especially considering the only thing that conducts electricity better is silver. copper is the second best conductor of electricity.

I like the plat plugs, except on domestics engines. And you should never clean the plat plugs because some of the cheaper plat plug only have a layer of plat on the tip and are not true 100% plat core. Check ou the NGK site they explain it much better. Also if your have a turbo or nitros you will need a colder plug. One reason the plat plug last longer is of because the platium and the operating temp is reached sooner ( self cleaning).

hmmm...I am going to have to ask Jeff which plugs he put in my car. I had a set of platinums in there, but I don't know what were in my JDM engine. Either way, I have platinums with about 30-40k miles on them. I plan on putting in NGK Copper plugs when I tune it up next time. I don't drive enough to really need the longevity of the platinums.
