Clutch Advice...people who know please help
#1
Hey,
My clutch on my 92 SE is going and going fast! I wanna get another soon but I am a little confused as to all the different models and Stages that I keep hearing about. I realize that as the stage gets higher, the stronger the clutch is to withstand more torque and horsepower, right? Could anyone give me a brief rundown as to the driveability of these clutches for daily use as well as the occasional race and if I am better off just getting a stock Nissan clutch to replace it. Any advice or experiences would help out so much! Thanks guys!

clutch choice
I am in the same boat, and have decided on the ACT set with the upgraded organic disc, but NOT the four or six puck racing clutch. I am looking for improved performance with durability, but mine is a street driven car, and does not race. The race clutches have a harsh engagement, desirable on the track, but not (for me) on the street.
Centerforce makes good clutches as well, and I have read, on forums like this one, people having good experience. Two guys posted, however, that they had used both ACT and Centerforce that they liked ACT much better. So I am going with ACT when the time comes.
Whatever you do don't go with the Nissan value line. Nissan true OEM would eb my choice after the two above. I have gotten about 40K out of my oem setup with spirited, but not insane driving.
Good luck,
John
