Hi guys,

A few days ago I asked a question on my power steering being too hard and advised me to check the belts and steering pump. I went to a mechanic and he quoted a standard $240 for labor and he started showing me the rack and pinion setup in my 1989 maxima.

Is there a way I can check the belts and the pump myself? I feel this guy is trying to rip me off..

(As you can see, I am less than a novice in car maintenance..
