crazy tach

ok my tach is crazy it likes to jump around alot and its starting to **** me off

so i decided it was time to fix it so has anyone had this problem, because a place to start would be nice. The tach works its just that somtimes it jumps way up to like 6 grand and ill be reving the engine at about 2 grand. So yeah if anyone can help it would be nice

I have the same problem but whats really weird is that I have the signal going to an aftermarket tach on my dash. Talk about weird!!

just go to the bone yard and pick up a new one or try and source one up from someone parting one out or i sometimes see them pop up on ebay for real cheap
