(?) on shaving spoiler

I want to shave my spoiler off, because one side is coming off anyway, the rust is dripping down an staining my white paint and one half the light dosn't work.
Has anyone done this?
Should i save myself the trouble of filling the holes and buy a trunk w/o a spoiler.
Or should i sawzall the thing off. haha jokes. How do you get those little plastic things off the under side holding that gray stuff on, i know theres a tool but i dont have one.
And would i have to paint the whole trunk or could i just sand a section and repaint it like they do on "Trucks" the tv show.
the body shop said it would cost $300 just to re-paint the whole thing (thats it).
So i would rather buy the stuff and do it myself.

sincerely,
Justin

Find a GXE trunk in your color. Easiest by far

fixed my spoiler

I fixed one on my Black 92SE. It was so ****ed up that one time I raised the trunk the whole thing fell off. Took it all off and cleaned all the leftover glue and residue from the trunk and the spoiler. Took four spiraled sheet rock anchors, predrilled holes in the spoiler where the rusted off bolts were, coated the anchors with silicone adhesive and filled the holes with silicone adhesive and screwed the anchors into the holes in the spoiler until flush and left overnight to set up. The next day I put new screws through the holes in the trunk and into the anchors. Coated the outside wings of the spoiler with silicone adhesive (black like the car) and stuck them down to the trunk. Weighted them down with sand bags so they would stick good and left overnight again.(cleaned the seepage off real well first). That was six months ago--better than when I bought it.

like they said it would be better to get a GXE trunk in your color but if you wanted to do it yourself and didnt want to weld then you may try this link scroll down to almost the middle.

I personally wouldnt do this (I like my welder too much) but it would probably work in a pinch and you can just get some touch up paint for the time being until you can afford to do it right or find a GXE trunk.
