A intercooler is for a turbocharged car.....a transmission cooler is for a automatic transmission to help cool the fluid off.

 

can u use intercooler for a nomal car also for the tranmission cooler can i get one at a discoauto parts

 

Your non-turbo car has no use for a intercooler. yes you can get a transmission cooler at the discount auto parts store.

Intercoolers and for turbo cars only. Yes you can turbo your car but you will have to custom fabricate it there is not kit.

Tranny coolers are for automatic cars and can be purchased at an auto parts store but i doubt they are going to have the one you want in stock. Ask internetautomart if he knows a good place online. He is a great source for parts when you need them.

 

to answer the question "what is an intercooler, what it does." -it is a radiator placed "between" the turbo compressor and the intake manifold. why? because the act of compressing air to make it denser actually heats the air, as friction is created.

therefore, after the outside air is inducted into the turbo compressor (packing it in "tightly"), it is necessary to "cool" this air down, to increase it's density even further; the more air (denser) you can cram into the combustion chamber, the more power you will get when it is ignited.

also, cooler air in the intake reduces detonation or knock.
