I have a 92 Maxima and my "Secutiry" light will not stop flashing. It flashes when the car is on and it flashes when the car is off.

I dont have the remote for the car so I cant really turn off the security thing or whatever.

Does anyone know what this could mean and how can I get it to stop flashing?

 

do you have an SE or GXE?

 

I'm not sure.... where would it say so?

 

it doesn't, do you have door keypads?

 

the light remains on 30 seconds after you close the door to show you security system is activated then goes away . or maybe you just never have the door shut all the way

 

the stock alarm isn't activated (armed) untill the light goes off. witch takes 30 sec.

 

I have this problem with my maxima. I did a google search of this entire site as well as browsed most of the FAQs, but couldn't find anything on it.

Here are the details:
1994 Maxima GXE with auto climate
Security is always flashing
dome light goes off when doors are shut
Bose stereo just stopped working recently
battery will be dead after sitting for a little over a week

any ideas?

hood pin switch, door pin switches all ok?

It turned out that the fuse for the security was taken out to turn it off cuz it got stock or something. The previous owner did it.

 

Heh. Big duh on my part. Had the hood open in the garage to work on the car. Figured it out when I took it for a drive today after recharging the A/C. Doh.
