94 Engine problems HELP!!!

OK... so this is going on 7months now. Timing belt has been replaced, machined heads with new valves put in, compression test reads 195 on the cylinders. All cylinders have good spark, Cylinder number 1 doesn't want to work. I finally gave in and replaced the injector the other day with no sucess. While the engine is running you can pull off the spark plug wire and it makes NO difference on this cylinder, but like i said before i HAVE tested it for spark, so it's not ignition, somehow electronically related with the injector? Is there a device that controls each injector on this model? BTW... this is an automatic 94 SOHC Maxima. I need this car to run. Any help would be much appreciated.

Did you check to see if the injector is getting a signal from the harness?
Did you replace the injector with a new one or a rebuilt one?

Do you have a noid light available to double check for a signal to the #1 injector. I don't think there's a device that control each injector seperately. Was this problem before or after the head job? Could it be a broken injector wire/harness? What did you use to check for spark in cly #1, did you just pull the spark plug wire #1 and stuck a dummy plug into it and checked for spark? Try swapping spark plug #1 with another plug and see if the problem follows that plug, could be a shorted plug. Sounds like you have covered a lot of things, I'm just trying to toss up a few ideas regardless of how obvious it may sound.

The injector was a brand new one, not rebuilt. And yes, i did check to make sure i bough the right color injector for the vehicle. Yes i tested the spark by using a dummy plug, I'll try swapping the plug with another one.. good idea. No i do not have a "NOID?" light.. is this the device you stick on the injector and it lights up telling you it's working? because i've been looking for a place to purchase one of these. Other than that tool... if i stick a volt meter up to the harness, would that work to test signal, no wait... i'd prolly have to read ohms right? Anybody know what ohm reading it should be for the pink injector?
