Rislone Engine Treatment

"Rislone" Engine Treatment./ Anyone have experience with it? Do you think it will solve or just help a little with the VTC Ticking? ***My ticking is not too bad & almost goes away after about 10 mins. of warm up***

My car would tick for about the first 3 seconds it started up in the morning so I put some of that Rislone in and it went away for about 3 weeks but then it slowly started to come back but maybe for like a second. Of course mine isn't a SE but it did help and i'm going to put some more back in it because it got worse whenever I took it out.

engine treatments are 99.9% snake oil. don't waste your time with them. use good oil and filter and change on a regular basis and you won't need those engine "treatments"

Well, do I have much to worry about with the ticking for a few seconds in the morning at startup? usually the oil light will flicker for a second or two also.

what oil and filter are you running?

that's fairly common on higher mileage engines, especially nissan..

I have the EXACT same thing too. On days where I havent driven the car for about a day or two, that happens when I start it up. I am using Penzoil
10W-30 w/Nissan Filter (light blue one). I have 90k miles on the car, everything original. (VG)

I bought it with 128k and started using Valv. High mileage. I put Mobil 1 back in it (previous owner used it) once it started ticking at 137k hoping to silence the ticking but after 3k it hasn't helped much. I am using a purolator oil filter.

you've at least got a decent filter. stay away from the valvoline high mileage. I used it for a while and had some oil tested and it was nothing but bad news. worn out oil at 2500 miles. yuck. too many additives that don't do any good for the engine either.

just stick with a good dino oil or mobil 1. I use castrol GTX myself with toyota filters on my VE. for you VG guys, stick with the OEM filter and good oil and you're best off.
