I figured out how to take the whole door apart in under thirty minutes to get to the speakers...just find the screws and the rest pops out, its not a big job.

I don't think he was talking about simply taking the door panel off. Taking the door panel off is a breeze.
Several people have done the inserts and re-upholstering them is a pain. (at least it was for me?)
The insert isn't a seperate peice from the panel - just looks like it is. So you can either re-upholster it from the front (good luck getting it to look professional tho), or you could do it the way I did - I ended up cutting the 'insert' area out and then wrapping it with the new material, then glued the 'insert' back into place. This may not be the way others did it, and I had very little upholstery experience, but this was the only way I could see to get the edges of the insert to have a clean, factory 'edge' when done.
It's not really that tough to do, just make sure you take your time and buy some high-quality spray adhesive (I used 3M spray).
I put a few pics at the bottom of page 6 on my site (they suck but....) - take a look - might help you decide how you want to approach this?
Good luck

Then get your brother to tell all of us how to do it without cutting the section out - but still end-up looking factory.
