VTC sprocket trouble. HELP!!!
I just bought a 92 max and was told the VTC sprockets were in need of replacement. I did some searching and found that they could be bypassed. Anyway, I did the bypass and the chattering is still going on. I grounded the yellow/green wire and took the harness off it and it still happened so I removed the other harness and yet again it still happened. What am I doing wrong?. Could it be anything other than the VTC sprocket?. If yes, what could it be and if no then what is up with it?. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

My JDM VTCs clack just a little bit on startup. I have the toyo filter, but I guess it's inevitable.

back to the original post here...
You said you grounded the wire but then "took the harness off it" right?
You are not supposed to take any harness off at all to do this.
Ground the wire and leave the harness on. You have to engage the solinoid and to do that the harness has to be connected.
I may have totally misunderstood what you wrote but if I didnt go back and reconect the harness and be sure you have a good ground.
