resetting computeri

resetting computeri

is there a quicker way to reset it or do I have to take off the battery cables for a couple of hours. thanks.

Pull the engine control fuse for about 15 seconds....

1) Turn on the ignition, do NOT start the car
2) Turn the "mode screw" fully clockwise...hold for 2 seconds
3) Turn the "mode screw" fully counterclockwise - this puts the system into "mode 2" diags
4) repeat steps #2 & #3 - when this puts the system back into "mode 1" it will also clear any stored codes.

thanks knight but i was taliking about actually resetting it not clearing codes. i just got a new y pipe and wanted to let it reconfigure itself

I misunderstood. I don't have ready access to my FSM right now, so not able to help you with that (having never had to do it myself).
