I "winterized" my Max today
So, since it cracked 55 degrees up here in Mass, I decided to do some work on the Max that I had been putting off. Here is a list of what I did:
She's ready for the slopes now!
- Swapped the SSRs for the 17" Cobras w/ Michelin Artic Alpin snow tires
- Replaced a couple of bolts on my BBK bracket with higher grade ones
- Tightened up my front sway bar
- Replaced the heim joints on the RSB endlink brackets -- the old ones were looser than the town *****
- Put my ski rack on (bought all new stainless steel hardware for it)
She's ready for the slopes now!

Hey, Miz. I just moved from Boston(Needham) to San Antonio. I noticed one thing missing in your pics... a place to hold a snowmaker. Because you know it's goiing to be all hardpack again this year. And by the time you get to the slopes, the "powder" from the mountain guns will be a sheet of ice. Good luck to you. What tires do you use for the winter?

Yeah, they are Alpins. Yeah, snow in the East is poop compared to out West, but I make the most of it. It beats the skiing in Texas, I'm sure

They have water skiing down here. It takes place almost year round if you're up to it. In a season called summer where the sun isn't hidden by clouds forever. You may have seen it on movies.

Its a Yakima rack that I bought off a guy on the org who had it on his I30. I had to buy new clips for it so it would attach to my door mouldings, but otherwise it fits fine. It also has a single bike attachment, but I never use it.

The car looks too nice to drive in the snow!
I think a lot of guys would love to have your "snow rims" as their "show rims." Especially guys like MrGone rolling on stock rims...
You should come out here and visit a real ski area. I don't ski anymore, but Mt Hood and Mt Bachelor are calling your name...

Hey, thanks for all the compliments. As for the sticker, I didn't put any of those on there -- they came with them on and I was too lazy to scrape them off. So, its entirely possible that there is a teckademics sticker on there.
As for the wheels, man, they are soooo heavy. The snow tires are really heavy, and the rims are slightly heavier than the SSRs. I have an exhaust leak, so its tough to tell how badly they affect acceleration. The extra sidewall is nice on these horrendous roads though. It is actually a staggered setup, as the snow tires came off a BMW M3 before I pirchased them.
