whistling noise

When I'm driving I get this whistling noise when I'm accelerating between 40-45 mph and between 1500-2000 rpm. It is high pitched and coming from the right side. Once I get pass 45 it goes away or if I take my foot off the pedal it goes away. Anyone know what the noise is?

Sounds like maybe a leak in one of the vaccuum lines?

could be the beginning of exhaust stud breakage. my gxe had a whistling noise that sounded like a turbo (even fooled a import performance shop owner who does lots of turbo setups). eventually it went away, which when it did, it started making the good ol' exhaust leak ticking noise.

you can always wait to replace it, BUT it will cost more later because more damage will probably occur

Ok how do I convince a asian dad who doesn't want to replace anything unless its broken completly? For example he won't replace my car battery even though its been crusting at the positive end and white/blue powder builds up around it fro several years now.

Speaking of whistling. I know that i am missing a vaccuum line and i had to put a piece of duck tape over it. Does anyone know what this goes to?

seems like you care about the car.

I just sent most of my money on subs and two JL 500/1 money is gone almost. I have a job but I haven't worked for the past two weeks cause they don't need me to move heavy boxes I work at party city. I convinced my dad though. Do I need to replace just the muffler or everything? I also am having problems with my car shaking at stoplights. The RPMs move up and down and the whole car shakes people called it seizures here anyone know if I replace the exhaust will the seizures go away?

you can feel around where the studs are/are supposed to be to see whether or not they are broken. most of the time they break right near the head so you'll just feel a hole for the stud in the exhaust manifold.
