stainless clutch line replacement... no idea

Hey guys,

I recently bought the 3rd gen stainless clutch line and I've looked in the chilton for help on replacement, but as far as I know it doesn't show where it is or how to replace it. I'm looking for a rubber type line but can't find it.

If anyone has pics of where it is I would greatly appriciate it.

Mike

it runs right on top of the tranny from the slave cylinder to the clutch master cylinder
drain the system, take out old one, put new one in, bleed, drive

it's a 5spd, but i noticed today that there is also a hose that goes from the bleeder of the slave to the engine. It is leaking brake fluid and i'm hoping that is the clutch line.

For the past hour i've been trying to get this line out but am unable to.

here's a pic of what i'm talking about.

assuming this is the clutch line (yellow arrow) to replace with a stainless one, how do you take out the clip. (in red)

Is there a faster or better way of taking out the line?

Mike

Use a screwdriver or something of that sort to pry out the clip (red arrows). You might have to work it back and forth a little, but it should pull right up. Same with the other clip that holds the clutch line in place where it screws into the solid pipe (near the battery).

Ya like he said just use a screwdriver to pry the clip out. It comes straight up and then the line will come straight out.

I was curious when I was trying to bleed the clutch, this was before I knew I had a leak, that there was a grinding noise when I depress it. What the heck is that noise?

an easy way to remove thoes clips, lock a vicegrip on it, as tight as can be, and hammer up on the vicegrip. it will pop off..

im just goin gto render a guess what the noise is: the throughout bearing?
