quick question about a 93 maxima DOHC

quick question about a 93 maxima DOHC

ok everyone, got a 93 maxima, DOHC motor, 3.0 litre, and i was just looking for some reassurement that it isnt an interference motor..please tell me it's not..im pretty sure it isnt..but a little reassurance would be good

Unfortunately, the DOHC motor is an interference engine like the SOHC; however, the DOHC (better know here as the VE30DE) has a timing chain as opposed to the SOHC (know as the VG30E) which has a timing belt.

um...uh oh...im doing the timing chains on it..and it ran for a while after the bottom chain jumped a few teeth, i reset everything to factory specs...and im gonna start it tomorrow..i hope it's gonna be ok..do you think i bent any valves?

if it ran without the chain, then chances are pretty good that it bent some valves.
