the person who sold me this car told me that the ABS brakes were "chattering", well i think i know what he means, he took the fuse out but it still sounds like the brakes are trying to work while i'm going down the road, like a high pitch screeching noise but it doesn't do it all the time, i've only heard it 3 times in the past week, anyone have any ideas??

 

Are your brake pads almost gone? Is it a sound of metal-to-metal contact? Otherwise, stick the fuse back in and run an ABS self-diagnosis.

 

yea its a metal on metal sound, but i'm not applying the brakes when it makes the noise

 

it's not unusual to have screeching from the brakes, when they AREN'T applied, when the pads get worn
