Here is the finished product.
Here is the link to the pics: http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/295022/12

I'll be installing it soon, and will get pics of that too.

Climate Control will be located below the stereo. I am still working on brackets for that. Once I finish that, I will offer a limited run in a group deal for anyone who would like this cluster. ( Gauges not included )

I will have to see about making the brackets first, then see how much it will be for my materials/labor. But I'll certainly give fellow org members a better deal than the ones I'll be selling on ebay.

First things first is to copyright (I think that's the word) this. Then no one can re-invent it.

If people want I can offer a non-angled model; but the angled is far superior especially how easier it is for the driver to see the gauges.

a patent would be better than a copyright

The application and submission is about $500-2000 for a patent (without a lawyer). So... unless I stand to make at least tens of thousands from the 3rd gen crowd it is not worth patenting.

Ball park price will be $50 + or - depending on the cost of the climate control relocation brackets.

only if its a single din pop out screen because then the a/c will occupy the din below the radio.. one thing i hate about the 3rd gen dashes - the 4th gens are perfect for dash screens

yea, thats what i meant, the flip up screens, but then what if you got a screen in place of the double din h/u spot, and relocated the h/u to where the coins/ashtray are? that would be sweet, and i think i have seen it done...dont know who

Where are you going to put the climate control then? Maybe you don't need climate control where you live...

I would be down for one too...are you going to get the entire center pieces or is it a piece you fabricate to mold into the center console?

It is the plastic only that will be integrated into your own center panel.

I am working on putting together the group deal right now.

The problem with that is that there's probably many other 3rd genners out there who've done the same thing on their own (albeit probably not as clean and professional looking as Brians ). And patenting something like this that probably wont yield a whole heckuva lot of money really isnt worth the trouble especially with such a small market.

It's like the speaker mounts I make. Lots of people make their own and I dont sell enough or make hardly any money off it to make it worth my while to even think about patenting it or anything

N34JZ did it

memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/5/web/185000-185999/185001_342_full.jpg

i felt the whole piece and everything is blended and smooth

something like that could work with the gauges if you sneak the ac between the screen and the deck (or in his case here the dvd player)
