Ok i just got it back up and running, and now im having the same problem with it as before. its over heating, except now more then ever, i replaced the thermostat, water coolant temp sensor, radiator cap and it has plenty of fluid.

its getting all the way up to the top on the hot thing.

What could be the problem?

the oil is NOT milky colord either.

i test drove the car, got about a mile away from the house and it started over heating and go to the point where i pulld over and parked it and jogged all the way home.

antonthegrey: from what you're telling me, you most likely have an air bubble in the coolant which isn't allowing your thermostat to open.

antonthegrey: leave the cap off, run the heater on full, and all the way hot

edit: aim log = b7

ill second the LOL..

there should be a "bolt" that when loosened on the intake manifold acts as an air bleeder for the coolant. i kow the ve has it youll have to ask if the vg does

Ya, try opening the bleeder valve to let out the air. Open and let the car run until coolant start coming out of it. Then all the air is out.

It is on the top of the intake manifold. If you are looking from the front of the car it is on the back right hand side, right in front of the PCV valve.

2 things:
1. is the thermostat in the correct way? (not sure if you can put it in backwards or not)
2. start the car with radiator cap off and watch to see if the coolant starts to move, if it does then the water pump is good or at least semi-functional, if it doesn't then you have a problem.
BTW wait til the car warms up a bit to look for movement.

Personal experience: My Max has had a slow leak at the water pump for almost two years. Just yesterday I had to park my Max due to it overheating. I believe my waterpump has just crapped out. So do check waterpump. The other alternative, you state that the coolent has no appearent oil in it. I owned a GrandAm that had a sealed coolant system. It kept overheating, turned out to be the headgasket. Draining the coolant, there were traces of oil which were not noticeable with the fluid in the car.
