My Engine Looks Like C**P
I want to know if you guys Clean your engine bays, and if so How? I figuered if you spraid any sort of water in the engine there could be consequenses.
My engine is all grimey and looks like steam stains. Replaced the radiator because of it, but the air intake manifold is stained. How can I Clean the engine bay? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

do what i did. swap a jdm ve in there....while its out, clean the shiit out of it. and clean the engine bay. then put that badboy in there. and walla, nice looking engine bay with a 30-60k motor...or you can just not worry about as long as it runs good.

He even did it to an old 87 Z24 I used to have, and no problems resulted.

Having a open element filter tends to up the difficulty scale ever so slightly. That is if you don't have a CAI . I would like to have the engine running while I am rinsing it with water just so that I can stop when the engine starts to heave. But what I have always done is cover my K&N with a plastic bag, soak the engine bay with Simple Green, let it soak (the longer the better, unless your engine is hot, but still doesn't make much of a difference,) and rinse it off with high pressure at the car wash. I have never had an issue. Of course I don't hold the 90psi over my distributor, cover or not.
