Installed my AE gas, brake & clutch pedals and did a little write up for them

Well I had a little time today and I decided to see how to install my AE gas pedal. I figured I would go ahead and do a write up on it because I know a couple of people have asked about it in the past.

It was really quite easy and it took me more time to do the write up than the actual install.

I plan on doing the clutch and brake pedals tomorrow...and will probably do a write up on it too. Not sure though since its basically just trimming the sides so the cover will fit.

Here is the link to the write up...enjoy and hopefully it will be helpful to those that were interested in doing the install.

you dont need to clip off the black bar... it is really unnoticeable

I didnt buy the whole AE assembly but just got the pedal itself, it did not come with a clip, and i used several wrapings of 14 gauge wire to secure the pedal where the clip would have gone.

I actually tried to put the pedal on with that cross bar and it hit and wouldnt sit right so I just cut it off and painted...maybe I wasnt holding my mouth right or something. I did consider just bending it but cutting it looks cleaner anyway and I am an "attention to detail" kind of person.

Like I said in the write up though "This is how I installed my AE gas pedal in my 3rd gen. There may be other ways but this seemed to be pretty easy so its how I did it."

I am sure not a master of installing the AE gas pedal lol.

Thanks the clutch and brake pedals are covers. They have rubber coming out of the holes for grip. There is also a little rubber on the sides.

I think they look much better than the ricer pedals (and fit much more secure too) but cheaper than the real nice pedals. Of course these pedals are smaller and probably wouldnt be good for racing like nice high end pedals so they are just for looks.

I am not going to use my car for racing though so its not a big deal to me. I just like how they look .

I shall be copying you shortly

I wouldnt be copying if I would actually work on my car though

I did put my gauge pod in yesterday, but I didn't wire it yet.

LOL yeah I keep thinking I will move it when I am down there but then just say forget it since I will be doing something different with the speaker wires in the next couple of days (that was already there when I got the car). I also have an old power wire sticking out the other side. It looks pink instead of red though. Its pretty thin too. I will run my good wire to the back when I do the carpet.
