So im on my way to work tonight, (good ol 11-7 shift) and i get off the highway to the bottom of the off ramp, go to put it and gear and the clutch pedal goes way soft. I couldnt put the car into gear, and the clutch pedal is only comin up about a inch or 2 from the floor. so a lil elbow grease and the right rpm i was able to get it into gear and get to work. so now im trying to find where to put in clutch fluid (brake fluid) i know where the brake fluid reservoir is, but then theres another little reservoir behind it, is that for the clutch? cuase that one is empty. Another question on the passenger side theres a big reservoir that looks kinda like a coffee can, is that power steering? sorry for the newb questions but im in trouble when morning comes.

I must be retarded, I still dont know where to add the clutch fluid, that picture is of the brake fluid reservoir, right behind it and to the right a little bit is another little reservoir, should i add brake fluid that, because my brake fluid reservoir is not low, but the little one behind it is. I realize its probably a slave cylinder issue but i need quick fix to get me to my shop.
I had the exact same problem a long time ago.
I just put more brake fluid in that small reservoir and I haven't ever had any problems since. I thought it was the slave cylinder too but it has been a while and the fluid level hasn't gotten any lower.
I bled the system when I replaced my clutch and thats it. I'm not the least bit concerned about it.

Yes that small res. is the clutch master cylinder. Your clutch might sink to the floor still after filling it up, just pump it a couple times and it will stiffen right up. After a couple hours, the pedal will be restored to normal.
Mine was that way, all empty. I filled it up, it went down about 1mm, right below the top off after a month, now it stays right at the line and I haven't filled it up since

Read the autozone link and learn a little about the clutch system. But most likely it's your slave cylinder. I'd just replace both the slave and clutch master clyinders anyway. Also inspect the clutch line that connects both.
If the resevior is low that usually means there is a leak. Just putting in more fluid and pumping the pedal is not really the answer. The correct method is to identify the leak and fix the problem. If not, you might find yourself on the side of the road.

ya, i actually just came on here to ask the same question. Last night comming home from dinner i noticed my pedal was very soft, but after a few pumps it came back to life, little while later..went soft. So when i got home i let it sit over night see if it would do anything, today, same thing. Added some brake fluid to both(were under the max line).
Schhweeet. Well thanx for the help guys, specially jeff for the instant resoponse so late hehe. Yea i put some fluid into it and realized that the cap to the reservoir is broken so its not keepin the fluid in there when pressure builds, so new cap flushed system and voila, spec Stage II back in action woot woot. Thanx again guys!
