rear speaker 6x9 too big, what now

after doing some research and took it for granted 6x9 will fit my 92GXE on the rear, i bought a pair of polk db690 6x9. Mininutes ago, after i got to the OEM speakers, i found they are round maybe 6 or 6.5. The polk 6x9 speaker will no way fit in.
Anyone has a clue how to make a adapter bracket?
Or i should get rid of them and get some 6.5s?
Thank you very much in advance for any help and hints.

the opening on my GXE is small: 6 or 6.5?
I don't know about SE Bose. Is the opening on Bose 6x9 factory or there is a bracket of 6x9 that fit on a 6.5 opening?
Thanks.

The speakers in my SE with the Bose system were 6x9 in the rear. I guess you could always go to the junk yard and pull the brackets. I had the Bose replaced (too busy to do it myself) But the shop said they had no problems putting the new speakers in.
