*FRUSTRATED* with my right front blinker.

Okay. My right front blinker is dead. Through process of elimination, I have concluded that the bulbs, fuses, entire blinker housing, and connections at the blinker housings are all good. The right rear blinker works, but it blinks really fast, as does the indicator on the dash. Both lefts work perfectly normally.

I've been trying to do a little wire tracing, but Nissan has the wiring wrapped up like fort knox, and things branch out into like 3 different spots right under neath the ABS assembly, which makes it kinda tough to trace. If anyone knows what connectors/wires I should be looking for near the ABS thing on the left side of the hood, could they please get me a pic, or just do their best to describe it? Thanks.

And if anyone has any other advice, I'm certainly listening. The car is your standard 5speed+VG 1991 SE.

This had happened to my 88 Beemer in the past , as it turns out, it was a loose connection, as for the wires, if left alone and not loaded with load more than they are rated for, they are pretty much bullet proof, so I would check the connections right at the housing and where the wires makes contact with the housing, then check your turn signal lever, then the relays, I know this isn't helping much, just offering some extra leads for ya. Good luck.

Will do.

Could that relay cause only one to fail though? I always thought it would just kill all of them.

Hmm..I'm only finding flashers for the turn signals...Is the relay located under the hood in one of those fuse/relay boxes?

How did I check what? The blinkers?

I swapped/replaced bulbs, and also swapped the entire assembly. They both work on the left side, but not the right.

What procedure did you do to check the connections at the blinker housing?

All I could do was inspect the plugs/prongs/wires and whathaveyou. I don't have a way to check voltage.

Both housings do work, its just that the right side seems to not be getting voltage or something.

Anyone got any info on that blinker relay? They don't seem to exist at online parts places :|

Go out and take the blinker connector out of the lens, turn your ignition to the on position .

Turn on the blinker and while its on, wiggle the bulb, wires going in to the connector.See if you can get it to work.

One of my wires was loose on one of my back turn signal lights, thats how i found the problem.

GRRR....no dice >:-\

I can't even trace the 2 wires that lead to the blinker (1 pink/black stripe, 1 black) The wiring on this car is aggravating.

Kinda irritating to follow, eh? Now that I've got this out, I've got a few more things to try. Anybody got any extra suggestions?

One possibility is some external load, which drives more than normal current through the blink relay bi-metal. It gets hot faster and thus the faster blink.

Test this theaorey: if u take left lamp out, will it be slower?

Take out rear light assy and ispect for right kinda lamps rightly installed, shorts...
