Bose HU & Aftermarket Speakers

I'm not sure if I should put this in the Audio forum, or here in the 3rd Gen. If i'm in the wrong forum please move the topic.

With that out of the way, I have a 1994 Maxima with the Bose sound system. I've replaced all the factory speakers with aftermarket speakers. Origionally I had also put in a new HU, all the speakers worked great with the new HU. I had to remove that and place it in another vehicle. Here inlies my problem, I put the origional HU back in, and two problems:

1) I no longer have LED lighting in the deck ( can't tell what radio station i'm on etc. ) I know there's a way to fix it, but I tried looking through the forums, if I over looked it please point me in the right direction.

2) My rear speakers are getting very little power to them, If I fade all the sound to the rear I can BARELY hear them, do I need to somehow attatch a amp to them?

Thanks for the help in advance!

the stock bose HU uses a line level signal to each amp at each speaker.
so you can't use the stock HU with aftermarket speakers

I fixed problem 1 earlier today, still trying to figure out how to fix problem 2.

Hm, My front aftermarket speakers are getting full power and great sound, woulden't both not be getting sound if that's the case?

Would re-routing the positive and negative wires for the rear speakers with speaker cable directly to the rear speakers work?

yes, or you can just bypass the amps in the rear and use the factory wiring
